Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer believes new signing Facundo Pellistri will be a welcome addition to the squad.

The 18-year-old was Solskjaer's final signing on deadline day as he joined United for £9million from Penarol on a five-year-deal.

And he appears to have already made an impression on the United boss, who revealed he has brought skillsets to the squad that they don't have in the current group of players.

Solskjaer told MUFC.com: 'He's a young boy coming from Uruguay.

'He's a signing in the tradition of what we do here which is to bring young players in and let them grow and develop and become the player they can be.

Of course we'll give him time. He's more one for the future than now, but he's exciting and he's shown some things in training that we don't really have here.

'I'm looking forward to helping him develop and helping him settle.'

Another deadline day addition for United was left-back Alex Telles, who joined from Porto for an initial fee of £13.6million.

Solskjaer said that the Brazilian could make his debut against Newcastle on Saturday night, as he explained: 'I'll have a word with him and just make sure he feels up to it and hopefully we can bring him up to Newcastle.'

Manchester United will be hoping to bounce back from their 6-1 drubbing at the hands of Tottenham following a poor start to the Premier League season with one win and two losses.
